The Project
Capisce Ristorante Italiano is one of the high-end and more intimate restaurant environments at Winstar Resort. Its elegant Old World European design features decorative wood trimmed ceiling, stone-clad facing on the fireplace and large book-matched, burled walnut veneer wine cabinets and bar fronts that imbue old-style charm. The 500-seat Gran Via Buffet was designed around the Spanish cities of Madrid and Barcelona. Designers drew inspiration from Park Guell in Barcelona and famed Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi’s work is very organic and has beautiful hand-made quality, which comes out in the 3D, free form effects found in the fluid curves used throughout the space.
The Hotel Terrace Café located close to the resort’s lobby feels more like a fine dining restaurant. Silver metallic is used as a neutral against a shimmering color palette found on textured iridescent wall-coverings and a silver leaf and scrollwork painted ceiling mural. Designers used a bold navy and yellow pattern in the carpeting, creating a backdrop for neutral finishes and allowing elements of surprise to pop, such as the Chihuly-inspired glass art light fixture. The 182-seat Café also accommodates a 20-seat private dining room and outdoor pool terrace dining.
